DENNIS F. RASMUSSEN
Advocate for the Maryland Mortgage Bankers & Brokers Association (MMBBA)

Senator Dennis F. Rasmussen and the Rasmussen Group, LLC has been a registered lobbyist serving well over 300 individual clients during the past 30 YEARS.  Mr. Rasmussen has represented and advised the Maryland Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association (MMBBA) for over 20 years.  He served as County Executive of Baltimore County responsible for operating one of the largest county governments in the nation, essentially functioning as CEO with full responsibility over a $1.5 billion budget with 19,000 employees.  Baltimore County government is the frontline provider of all public services for some 850,000 residents.  During his tenure as Baltimore County Executive, he was elected by his peers as Chairman of the U.S. Conference of Urban County Executives and Chairman of the Baltimore Regional Council of Governments (Baltimore City and Baltimore, Carroll, Anne Arundel, Harford, and Howard Counties).  He held two terms in the Maryland State Senate, serving first as Majority Whip and then as Chairman of the prestigious Senate Finance Committee.  In addition, and because of his banking and finance background, he chaired the Joint Budget and Audit Committee.  He was nationally recognized when selected as One of Ten Outstanding Legislators in the United States.  Prior to his election as a State Senator, he served one term in the Maryland House of Delegates and sat on several Committees including House Appropriations and the Joint Committee on Personnel and Management.  He also haired an ad hoc Committee on State Data Processing and IT Management.

Senator Rasmussen volunteered his time and skills for numerous community efforts and has successfully chaired the capital campaigns of several major community nonprofit projects.  During his sixteen-year public service career, he was selected as the Most Valuable Public Official in America.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Loyola University, Maryland, served as an Adjunct Professor in Political Science and Government, where he was later recognized for his achievements by receiving the Loyola College Alumni Laureate Award

As a matter of good business practice and in conformity with the highest ethical standards, The Rasmussen Group, follows all policies, procedures and practices required by the Maryland State Ethics Commission governing lobbying activities on its part and on behalf of its clients.  The Rasmussen Group has accepted and adopted the American League of Lobbyists’ “Code of Ethics” and vigorously ensures that these standards are complied with regarding its relationships with public bodies, legislators, other elected and appointed officials, and their clients.
