MAA Update: Elected officials want to hear from you! Tell them how "trigger leads" have affected you

Elected officials want to hear from you!
Tell them how "trigger leads" have affected your customers and your business.

The Mortgage Action Alliance’s (MAA) "Advocacy in August" campaign is underway and designed for you to maximize the August congressional recess/work period. Connect with your elected officials while they are back in their states and districts this month. Sign up to join the conversation!

As part of the campaign, you are encouraged to share personal anecdotes about how mortgage credit “trigger leads” have impacted the homebuying process – for both consumers and lenders alike. Write a letter to your elected officials to help them better understand how the “trigger leads” problem is negatively impacting your customers. MBA will present your stories in a cohesive package to federal elected officials by September 9. This will help us be more effective in our push for the MBA-supported consumer protection bills, S. 3502 and H.R. 7297, the bipartisan/bicameral Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act of 2024, legislation designed to curb the abusive use of “triggers leads” and help maintain an efficient mortgage marketplace.

Watch MBA’s incoming 2025 Vice Chairman and 2023-2024 MORPAC Chairman, Owen Lee, Co-Founder and CEO of Success Mortgage Partners LLC, about how trigger leads have impacted his business – and his customers’ privacy and mortgage application experience
